The Election and Cookies

Jerry took yesterday and today as vacation.  We both wanted to be able to vote and so we took turns watching the wee ones.  It took each  of us close to two hours.  Thankfully, we both had books and coffee, and really, I enjoyed the time.  We vote at our church in our neighborhood, so it is always fun to see lots of people you know. Last night our kids were asleep before the results of the election were final.  Jerry and I went out on a date so we could just get our minds off the election.

Then this morning I was off to the dentist before the kids got on the school bus, so we didn't really get a chance to talk too much about the election.  It hit me today that Bush has been in office since before any of our kids were born. They don't know anything other than being in a house that loves their president, not just respects the office of being president.  I talked to the kids briefly this morning about how we are called to pray for the president and that is what we will do.

After school the kids had a  snack.  Kathryn, totally unprovoked, goes, "Mom, I feel so badly for John McCain.  I wish I could make him cookies to make him feel better."

Halloween Night

Friday was the perfect day for Halloween.   Jerry had to work late, so I took the kids trick-or-treating by myself.  It was the first year that all four of them walked.  We were a bit of a sitcom, but everyone had fun and stayed safe.  It was fun to see all of our neighbors and all the decorations.  Bridget was content to hold the same two suckers the whole time.  Our church had a party that night too.  Kathryn rode the mechanical bull.  Jack and Henry spent most of the night jumping in the bounce house.  Poor Jack wore his costume the whole time!

Halloween Day

Friday we were blessed with a beautiful day.  I took B and H to our favorite park.
